Stand up Comedy.

My venture into stand up comedy started one summer day in 1997 when on the way to meet friends at a bar in Times Square I had to stop in a restaurant called Hamburger Harry's to use the men's room. Upon entering the restaurant I came upon a ramshackle little stage in the back and as I passed to go to the bathroom I saw about 20 people sitting around watching someone talk into a mike. A diminutive woman in a baseball hat asked me if I wanted to put my name in the bowl. I asked her, "what is this an AA meeting?" She said, no Mr. funny, this is open mike, it's comedy! This funny lady was Gladys Simon, the MC and founder of this comedy room.

This wonderful woman would become my comedy mommy and a wonderful friend and mentor. Little did I know that that pitstop to use the bathroom would be the genesis of my comedy career. Little did I know that that comedy room produced the likes of Judah Friedlander, Zach Gallifinakis and Demetri Martin to name a few. The rest is history. I went pro in 2009 and have laughed and shared laughs with people in trains, buses, elevators and more safely stages. I have performed at The Broadway Comedy Club, The Eastville Comedy Club, The Comic Strip and many more.
